Homeless Prevention
Prevents homelessness by providing funds to pay for rent, deposits, or house payment when there is an imminent eviction or foreclosure. These funds may also be used for the start-up costs of moving into a rental unit. This program serves families of all sizes and ages, including singles, providing they meet low income guidelines.
Family Shelter
Serenity House owns two Emergency Family Shelters providing six shelter units in Port Angeles and two in the Cedar Crest Apartments in Sequim. Homeless families consisting of at least one adult with at least one minor child may stay up to 45 days rent-free in one of these units, while actively participating in case management and savings programs to assist them in obtaining permanent housing. No drug or alcohol use is allowed at the family shelter. Referrals are made by Housing Resource Center case managers.
Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA)
This joint program with the Housing Authority provides rental assistance and counseling to formerly homeless families seeking permanent, stable housing. Program referrals are made by shelter program case managers.
